Assassins Creed Shadows Streams Emerge Online a Month Before Official Release”

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has surfaced online ahead of its official launch, with some players already streaming gameplay nearly a month before its scheduled release.

According to reports from the GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit, now-deleted social media posts showcased images and gameplay footage from a user who claimed to have purchased the game through an online marketplace. Additionally, Assassin’s Creed Shadows appeared in listings on a U.S. auction platform, where multiple copies were reportedly being sold for $100 each, as noted by TheGamer.

Several Twitch streams featuring Assassin’s Creed Shadows have since emerged, although they are being swiftly removed, as reported by VGC. The game is officially set to launch on March 20, 2025.

This premature leak adds to a series of challenges for Ubisoft regarding Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Earlier this month, the company reaffirmed that preorders for the game remain strong despite setbacks in development and marketing. According to Ubisoft’s latest financial report, preorders are tracking similarly to those of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which is the second-best-selling title in the franchise.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot expressed confidence in the game’s performance, stating, “Early previews have been positive, highlighting its engaging narrative and immersive experience. Both protagonists play crucial roles in the storyline, and the gameplay benefits from their unique abilities and perspectives.”

Guillemot also praised the development team, emphasizing their dedication to making Assassin’s Creed Shadows the most ambitious entry in the series to date.

Originally planned for release in November, Assassin’s Creed Shadows faced multiple delays, first moving to February 14 before settling on the current March 20 launch date.

The game carries significant expectations as the highly anticipated Japan-set installment and the first major Assassin’s Creed title since 2020. With Ubisoft facing pressure from recent underperforming releases and investor concerns, the company is relying on Assassin’s Creed Shadows to make a strong impact.

Despite its potential, the game’s promotional period has been met with controversy. The development team previously issued apologies for historical inaccuracies in the depiction of Japan and the unauthorized use of a historical recreation group’s flag. Additionally, collectible figure manufacturer PureArts withdrew an Assassin’s Creed Shadows statue from sale due to concerns over its design.

As anticipation builds, fans eagerly await the official release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, hoping it delivers on its ambitious promise and lives up to the franchise’s legacy.
